The Stoplight System
The AI “stoplight” system is a simple way to show students and families when and how AI tools can be used on schoolwork by labeling assignments as Red (no AI use), Yellow (limited, teacher-guided AI use), or Green (AI use encouraged with responsibility). It gives teachers a common language to set clear expectations, protects the integrity of key assessments, and still allows students to learn how to use AI as a powerful support for thinking and creativity.
